New in from Urban Decay is a concealer which promises to be super lightweight and natural but build-able to full coverage to hide ‘even your most scandalous flaws’. As someone with a fair few of them dotted around my face, including scars, redness, spots and dark circles, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on one.
I picked up the shade light warm, which has yellow tones. The yellow tones within the concealer help to cancel out any blue in your undereyes and fight a fatigued look, making you look a little brighter.
I find there is no noticable smell and it doesn’t irrate my usually sensitive eyes.
The packaging to be gorgeous, a simplistic design with a glass tube (I think? It may be plastic but if so they’ve fooled me), which feels very luxurious, even though the price tag doesn’t break the bank in comparison to some other options out there. I also love the applicator, which is shaped to fit perfectly around your eye and is super flexible, bending to the contours of your face.
The first layer of this concealer on the under eye leaves you looking naturally brighter and more-awake looking, and as appropriate with the name ‘naked’ doesn’t scream “I’m wearing make-up!”, but rather that you have never missed an hours sleep, well, ever. It covers up red blemishes and spots amazingly and leaves you with naturally beautiful skin. It has a fairly matte finish which ensures me this isn’t going to slip away if your skin is on the oily side. It is wonderfully blend-able and a thinner consistency than other concealers at a similar coverage level.
Of course, this concealer also promises ‘complete coverage’. I have very deep and dark eye circles which are worse than the average person (I’m almost sure I was born with them) and I didn’t manage to build it up to a level where they were completely covered, before I started panicking about wasting product, but in it’s defense I have never come across a concealer that can achieve that. I don’t think you’d be able to achieve a heavy, completely flawless and full coverage look with this concealer, but especially as we move into Spring and Summer I find a more natural look to be beautiful. It did manage to fully cover any blemishes I had, however. No matter the amount I applied it did not crease or settle into fine lines.
This concealer has quickly become my everyday favorite, it offers the perfect level of blemish and dark circle coverage while still looking fresh and natural, as well as being packed full with anti-aging ingredients to protect your under eyes – it’s something I will refuse to put down until I’m scraping out the last traces of product. Even then, I can predict I will be repurchasing.
